Let’s face it, we’ve all attempted looking stylish when travelling. The truth is, comfort needs to come first! Airplanes are not exactly comfortable, so when travelling on a long flight, make sure you’re dressed for the occasion. Below are the Top 5 Tips on what to wear when travelling on a long flight:

  1. Sneakers or Comfortable Shoes: Sneakers provide the best comfort for your legs. Make sure to pick ones that don’t require a lot of lacing, making it easier to take them off during security checks and on the plane. Running sneakers are perfect, since they’re loose enough to make sure you're comfortable, yet remain stable on your leg.
  2. Workout Pants or Loose Pants: In order for you to adjust your seated position comfortably, you need to be able to move your legs! As such, skip the jeans and opt for your favourite workout pants. They’re stretchy, light, and allow you to move around comfortably. Or, if you prefer, you can always wear loose pants that don’t constrict your movement.  
  3. A Hoodie: You always need a hoodie or a cardigan when travelling. It can get pretty cold in the plane, and a zip-up hoodie will keep you warm and help you feel cozy. Make sure to get one with pockets, so you can place your phone, earphones, or whatever you need in it.
  4. Thick Socks: It’s always advisable to wear compression socks while flying, but for those of you who don’t feel you need them, opt for some warm thick socks. Thick socks will keep your legs warm if you decide to take your shoes off, and are comfortable to walk around in (we don’t recommend that you walk around an airplane without shoes, but just in case!) 
  5. Loose Cotton Tops: Who knows what position we end up in while trying to fall asleep on the plane? Make sure your top is comfortable, loose, and keeps you covered while you’re moving around. A Loose t-shirt or even some loose activewear would be perfect for a flight. If you’re worried you might get cold, layer up and wear an undershirt.
